Chief Advisor Agronomy - Hydroponics Farming

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Agronomy Advisor to lead our hydroponics farm operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with various hydroponic systems, including NFT (Nutrient Film Technique), Dutch Bucket, and Grow Bags, coupled with a deep understanding of cultivating crops such as leafy greens, vine crops like bell peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, melons, and other similar produce. This role presents a unique opportunity to drive innovation and excellence in hydroponic farming practices while overseeing the sustainable growth of our farm.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and technical guidance in all aspects of hydroponic farming operations.
  • Develop and implement crop production plans, including planting schedules, nutrient management strategies, and pest control protocols.
  • Conduct research and experimentation to optimize crop yields, quality, and resource utilization.
  • Train and mentor farm staff on best practices for hydroponic system operation, crop management, and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to stay abreast of developments in hydroponic agriculture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and achieve production targets.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
  • Represent the farm at industry events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings to promote knowledge sharing and networking.

Skills/Experience

    • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Science, or related field.
    • Minimum of 20-25 years of hands-on experience in Greenhouse farming, with a focus on NFT, Dutch Bucket, and Grow Bags systems.
    • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale hydroponic operations and achieving production goals.
    • Expertise in crop management techniques for a wide range of hydroponically grown crops, including leafy greens and vine crops.
    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive decision-making and problem-solving.
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
    • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability, innovation, and continuous improvement in agriculture.
    • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment
